Ms Lee Jameson

Lee Jameson is Managing Director of Gray Management Group, an integrated communications agency dealing with an impressive portfolio of clients ranging from retail to entertainment to finance sectors. Lee has extensive background within the media, having spent over 20 years with senior management experience in sales and marketing roles. Lee has also spent over four years within the insurance category as State Manager of SGIC. Bringing a diversity of opinion and experience to the board derived from the benefit of dealing with many businesses during her career Lee is passionate about TQEH Research Foundation and the tireless work undertaken by the staff and researchers, all with the aim of delivering first class medical research.

DEPUTY CHAIR
Mr John MacPhail

John MacPhail is a partner of Finlaysons, one of Australia's oldest commercial law firms. He heads the Intellectual Property, Technology and Commercialisation practice area. John has more than 20 years experience working in law firms in London, Sydney and Melbourne. He has been involved in landmark patent, trademark and copyright cases. He is also dedicated to the development of the industry and works as a postgraduate university lecturer and professional examiner on intellectual property subjects.

Mr John Hender
|
|
John Hender is the State Manager of Perpetual Ltd Private Wealth Division. He has worked extensively in the financial services industry for over 25 years. He has been involved in sales and marketing, consulting and business development as well as management. John has a long history of community work and has been a board member of the Research Foundation for eight years.

Professor Richard (Dick) Ruffin
|
|
Professor Richard Ruffin is the Professor of Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He has more than 25 years experience working as a respiratory physician consulting at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Lyell McEwin Health Service. Professor Ruffin trained at Prince Henry's Hospital in Melbourne before spending three years as a respiratory research fellow at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Professor Ruffin is interested in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate students. In terms of research, he continues to participate in projects such as a population study of risk factors for chronic disease and asthma.

Mr Ken Milne

Director of Milne Architects Pty Ltd Ken Milne adds a different aspect to the board. He received a Diploma of Architecture at the University of South Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Until recently, he was also a board member on the Chapter Council of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

| Associate Professor John Beltrame

Leading cardiologist Associate Professor John Beltrame brings a medical perspective to the board. He has a Bachelor of Science and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. He is currently working as a cardiologist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and a senior lecturer in medicine.

Ms Melinda OLeary

Melinda OLeary commenced working for Nova Defence in 2002. At the time of joining the company, Nova’s back office procedures were in their infancy. Melinda has been instrumental in fostering them through to maturation. Her responsibilities have been varied. When she first joined Melinda was responsible for the financial management of the company and establishing the Canberra and Brisbane offices. As the Company has grown, Melinda moved to her area of expertise, Human Resources. As Human Resource Manager she has used her extensive experience to assist Nova with recruitment, introducing Human Resources procedures, workforce planning and the development and implementation of new business systems. Prior to joining Nova Aerospace, Melinda held senior positions in several recruitment firms. She has been the State Operations Manager for Select Staff, and State Manager for both Manpower Services and Kelly Services. Melinda who completed the company director course in 2008 has recently joined the board of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation.

Luciana Larkin is a respected partner of Tregloans, an established Chartered Accountancy practice. She provides strategic advice to clients on a wide variety of taxation, accounting, superannuation & business matters involving succession planning; change management; enterprise acquisition, establishment and disposal; cashflow forecasting & funding arrangements. Her key expertise is financial analysis & evaluation of complex tax & business transactions and application of business acumen & experience in accounting & taxation to deliver effective outcomes. Luciana brings this professional expertise & strong focus on accountability & governance to TQERF Board together with experience from other not-for-profit boards.

Mr Paul Flynn

Paul Flynn is an innovative and entrepreneurial Executive who has earned a stellar reputation for achievement during a multifaceted career in both the Finance and Not for Profit sectors. He has been acknowledged for his contribution by being awarded the 2005 Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year in SA/NT and was also awarded the 2006 Equity Trustees Australian CEO Award for Innovation. Paul is passionate about the opportunity to help medical and scientific researchers in their important voyage of discovery which will benefit all Australians. Paul brings advanced skills to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation in the areas of Leadership, Sales Management, Property Development and Management, Change Management, Financial Risk Management, Employee and Organisation Development and Employee Relations. He is looking forward to working with the team at the Foundation and The Institute and is absolutely thrilled to accept this role as part of a great contributor to the health and well being of all Australians.
